Samia Broadcast · Channels open 2027
Made to be watched, not scrolled past.
Samia Broadcast is the film and video division of Samia Studios: documentaries about places and makers, long interviews with people doing useful work, and the house's explainers, lessons and children's films, cut for the screen. Five strands are in development. Nothing is released yet, and we will say so until it is.
What we make
Five strands.
One screen.
Everything the house makes that belongs on a screen comes through Broadcast. Each strand below is an intention with people behind it, not a catalogue. When a programme is released it appears on the Watch page with its transcript and sources.
Documentaries
Half-hour films about a place and the people who keep it working: a bakery before dawn, a library on a Saturday, a repair shop, a river town. Filmed where the work happens, with the people who do it.
Interviews
One person, one long conversation, published whole with a transcript. Nurses, teachers, engineers, farmers, translators: the people a city actually runs on.
Explainers on film
The Newsroom's explainers, drawn and narrated. One question, the documented answer, every source listed under the film.
Lessons
Samia Learn's lessons as short films: sixty seconds for the one number worth remembering, longer where a subject needs it. Checked twice, claim log underneath.
Films for children
Short animated films with Samia Kids' star character, about honesty, patience, courage, generosity and the joy of making things. No advertising to children, ever.
Nothing to watch yet
The first programme will appear on the Watch page before it appears anywhere else. Until then that page says so plainly, and so does this tile.
Where things stand
True today,
in order.
A new division with a long view. These are the only dates we have committed to, and the numbers are small on purpose.
How a programme gets made
Five panels,
no shortcuts.
The same order every time, whether the programme is sixty seconds or an hour. The checking is the slow part, and it stays.
Ask
One question the programme should answer, written down before anything is filmed.
Research
Reading, calls and visits. Every claim in the script gets a source in the notes.
Film
Real people, in their own places, with their consent on camera. No generated scenes, no generated faces.
Check
A second person checks the facts before release. Claims the checker cannot confirm come out.
Release
Published here with a transcript, the sources and a corrections line. Then on the channels.
Rules we keep
What we will
not do.
Film is easy to fake now. These are the lines we hold so that what you see on a Samia screen can be trusted, and so that the people in it are treated well.
No cloned voices, generated faces or generated scenes.
If you see it or hear it, a person filmed it, drew it or said it.
No staging passed off as footage.
If a moment is re-created, the caption says so. Drawn sequences are obviously drawn.
Consent, in advance and on camera.
Nobody appears in a programme without agreeing to it first and knowing how it will be used.
Corrections logged on the programme.
Errors are fixed and noted on the page with the date. Write to [email protected].
No advertising inside children's films.
And no tracking of children. Samia Kids' rules apply to every frame we make for them.
A person signs every programme.
Named people write, film, cut and check each one. Software helps in the workshop; it never goes on the shelf.
Later
Streaming, when it is earned.
A streaming service is only worth building when there is a catalogue worth sitting down for. That is a 2028 ambition, not a promise, and it depends entirely on the programmes coming first.
Until then every programme is published on this site, with its transcript and sources, and on the video channels when they open in 2027. Nothing will be hidden behind an account to make a catalogue look bigger than it is.
Release notes
Hear when the first
programme lands.
One email when a programme is released, and nothing else. No weekly newsletter, no offers, no reminders.
